From The Seattle Times: A 15-year-old girl who attends Snohomish High School in Snohomish, Wash., is being held in the stabbing of two fellow students in a school bathroom. The girl appeared before a juvenile court judge, who ordered her held on $1 million bond for investigation on charges of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault. Police say the girl, a sophomore, took an 8-inch butcher knife and a second knife to school Monday and waited in a stall in a girls' restroom before attacking a freshman girl. During the attack, a second freshman girl came to the victim's defense and was also stabbed. The first victim was in serious condition after receiving 20 to 25 stab wounds and undergoing surgery. The second victim suffered less severe injuries and was treated and released. Prosecutors say the alleged assailant has no previous arrests, but has an extensive history of mental illness.
