Tucson looks at closing 4 elementary schools

District also wants to relocate alternative education programs

The Tucson (Ariz.) Unified School District is considering closing four elementary schools and relocating two alternative education programs. Officials have projected a budget deficit of at least $15 million for the 2008-09 school year; they hope the closings will save as much as $4 million.
