Proposed budget in Clark County (Nev.) district calls for 2,500 job cuts

$411 million reduction also would means class size increases of 3 to 7 students

From The Las Vegas Sun: Proposed cuts of $411 million in the 2012 Clark County (Nev.) School District budget would result in 2,500 employees losing their jobs. The tentative budget includes a 7.8 percent reduction in salaries for all employees, a 25 percent cut in funding for textbooks and supplies, a 20 percent cut in administrative department budgets, an increase in health insurance costs for employees and an increase in class sizes by three to seven students.
