East Baton Rouge (La.) district may close high school

Shutting down Lee High would prevent a potential state takeover
May 6, 2009

From The Baton Rouge Advocate: To avoid a potential state takeover of Lee High School, the East Baton Rouge Parish (La.) School Board is considering closing the school. Superintendent Charlotte Placide recommends closing Lee High in stages. She says she plans to meet with state officials to see if the school system can approve Lee High’s closure but allow at least some students, especially the senior class of 2010, to stay for one more year.
