State of Pennsylvania shuts down safety watchdog of Philadelphia schools

Office's reports on school violence had raised ire of state officials

From The Philadelphia Inquirer: Pennsylvania officials have shut down the Philadelphia schools' independent safety watchdog. Jack Stollsteimer and the two state employees who supported his work will remain on the state's payroll through Aug. 28, but he has been ordered to stop working. Officials even changed the locks to his office in the Philadelphia School District's Center City headquarters.
