Two buildings under construction at North Carolina community college

Library and lab building will enhance Chatham County, N.C., campus of Central Carolina Community College.
Nov. 5, 2007

Central Carolina Community College has broken ground on two buildings on its Chatham County campus in Pittsboro, N.C. The 25,000-square-foot Chatham Community Library will be a joint-use facility, shared by the county and college. It will replace the existing 5,656-square-foot Pittsboro Library and the college’s small library. The 18,000-square-foot Sustainable Technologies Classroom and Lab Building will enable the college to enhance its sustainability programs. It will house labs for biofuels processing, constructions technology and agriculture, as well as a general arts instruction room and a culinary training facility. The architect is Cherry Huffman Associates.
