Montgomery County (Md.) district extends its superintendent's contract
Feb. 14, 2007
Jerry Weast has one of the longest tenures for the leader of a large district.
The Montgomery County (Md.) school board has approved a third four-year term for superintendent Jerry D. Weast. Admirers credit Weast with effectively balancing the interests of the county's haves and have-nots, attending to language and poverty needs in the eastern swath of the county while simultaneously managing highly organized parent groups in affluent Bethesda and Potomac.
