Audit has found that school system has resolved its financial shortcomings

From The Cleveland Plain Dealer: A financial forecast issued by the Ohioauditor's office has cleared the way for the East Clevelandschool district to be released from state oversight after eight years. The audit predicts that the district will have enough money to cover its expenses for the next four years. The 3,400-student district -- serving one of the state's poorest cities - landed in fiscal emergency when it couldn't cover bills totaling almost $8 million. The move came after years of warnings from the auditor's office about irresponsible purchasing practices and shoddy record-keeping.
