From The Detroit News: Faded blackboards, 19th-century wood flooring and light fixtures installed during World War II are making way for 21st-century improvements at Detroit Public Schools. Three high schools — Denby, Henry Ford and Western International — are in the midst of $60 million in renovations that are expected to provide brighter, cleaner and smarter learning environments, including 130 new classrooms as part of the district's $500.5 million construction bond.
