Threats, vandalism bring about security crackdown at Ohio school
Pickerington Central High School in Pickerington, Ohio, is taking a stand this week after an arson and this year's fourth lockdown, which was prompted by a written threat.Students can expect more supervision in the hallways and scheduled monitoring of the restrooms. More cameras will be added. Hall passes will be limited. Officials locked down the school Thursday morning after they discovered a note that threatened four students and said that a bomb would go off at 11 a.m. Police swept through the school and found no threat. On Monday night, a fire destroyed two school vans. Vandals also broke into a portable classroom and three outbuildings, where they spray-painted graffiti.
