Madison, Wis., breaks ground on elementary

District will seek LEED certification for school.

The Madison (Wis.) School District has broken ground on Vang Pao Elementary School.$12,923,000. The 86,396-square foot school will have 36 classrooms and house 690 students and 90 teachers. It's expected to be completed by September 2008. The facility has been designed to earn silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The architect is Zimmerman Design Group.
