2 Catholic schools will become charters in Indianapolis

Archdiocese will operate schools without religious content

FromThe Indianapolis Star: Prayer will not be allowed, statues will be gone and classroom work will not include the theology of the Catholic Church. But the Archdiocese of Indianapolis this fall will operate two of its schools as public charter schools. St. Anthony and St. Andrew & St. Rita schools were in danger of closing because of financial burdens placed on shrinking inner-city Catholic parishes.
