April 15, 2007

The high school under construction in Harlan County, Ky., is scheduled to be completed in about a year. The 203,000-square-foot facility will accommodate 1,300 students and consolidate Evarts, Cawood, and Cumberland High Schools into one when it opens in summer 2008. The HVAC design will use water from the nearby Cumberland River to heat and cool the facility. The architect is Clotfelter and Samokar.
