Federal grant will boost Arkansas charter schools

$3.4 million will enable the state to start up more charters

From ArkansasNews.com: A $3.4 million federal grant will help the Arkansas Department of Education start up additional public charter schools. The money from the U.S. Department of Education’s public charter schools program also will help spread the word about successful education programs and support planning efforts for new schools. Arkansas has 17 open-enrollment charter schools and 13 district conversion charter schools, which operate within school districts.
