From The State: South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford wants the state’s budget panel to stop approving construction projects at state-supported colleges and universities in light of steep tuition increases. Sanford has been a longtime critic of the South Carolina higher education system, arguing it duplicates too many programs and has too many schools.
