New Hampshire state school board puts a moratorium on new charter schools
From The New Hampshire Union Leader: Saying available funding is insufficient, the New Hampshire State Board of Education has adopted a moratorium on opening new charter schools. Charter advocates say that four proposed charters were awaiting approval from the state board, and several others are in various stages of development. Deputy Education Commissioner Paul Leather says the state's approval of eight new charter schools over the last two years has resulted in the state's exceeding budgeted charter school spending by $5 million.
