UC Davis student arrested after explosives found on campus

420 students evacuated from residence halls after materials were discovered

Police have arrested a University of California-Davis student after the discovery of explosives on campus led to the evacuation of about 420 students from their residence hall rooms. Mark Christopher Woods, 19, a freshman Economics major from Torrance, has been charged with possession of materials with the intent to make an explosive or destructive device. Shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, a woman reported students with possible explosive devices in a residence hall room.
