March 14, 2011

From The Detroit Free Press: A former truck driver with the Detroit Public Schools has been charged with stealing $70,000 worth of computer equipment after sneaking into a district warehouse. Robert C. Williams is accused of carrying out his overnight heist in 2005. Prosecutors say Williams and another person loaded stolen computer equipment onto a district truck, and Williams drove it away. The indictment follows a larger laptop theft case last year, in which 10 men allegedly stole 104 laptop computers worth more than $158,000 from four school district buildings.
