UMass committee approves $2.56 billion building plan

Officials say all five system campuses will get new facilities

The University of Massachusetts Committee on Administration and Finance has approved a five-year, $2.56 billion building boom. The plan, includes new academic and research facilities on all five campuses and renovations to other facilities. UMass President Jack Wilson says the construction will help the public university usher in a new era of academic achievement. The plan also must be approved by the university's Board of Trustees.
