Study says student performance is better since No Child Left Behind Act became law

Supporters say findings indicate the education reforms have succeeded.

The nation's students have performed significantly better on state reading and math tests since the No Child Left Behind Act became law five years ago, according to a new study by the Center on Education Policy. The study's authors caution that it is difficult to say whether or how much the law is responsible for the achievement gains. But supporters of the law say the findings indicate that it has been a success.
