New home for Media Lab at MIT
From The Boston Globe: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s famed Media Lab has moved into its new digs. Construction of the $90 million, 163,000-square-foot building began in July 2007. Founded in 1985 by MIT architecture professor Nicholas Negroponte and former MIT president Jerome Wiesner, the Media Lab originally was housed next door to the new building. The lab applies digital technologies to everyday problems in communications, media, and the arts. The architect who designed the new building is Fumihiko Maki.
