Baker (La.) district considers monolithic dome for new school building

Feasibility study will develop plan for 600-student elementary school

The City of Baker (La.) School Board has chosen a company that specializes in monolithic dome construction to conduct a feasibility study for a new building at Bakerfield Elementary School. The vote authorizes the Monolithic Dome Institute of Italy, Texas, to provide the district with a detailed plan for a new building for 600 students. A task force has recommended replacing the existing Bakerfield building, which was built in 1959.
