Partnerships will aid 2 new high schools in Detroit
From The Detroit News: Detroit Public Schools has announced partnerships with the Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University School of Medicine and three national education organizations for two new high schools that will open this fall. Under the partnerships, students at the Benjamin Carson School of Science and Medicine will have access to major health care facilities. Partnerships with City Year, Talent Development and Communities in Schools will enable students at the other school, Detroit Collegiate Prep — Diplomas Now/Michigan Future High School, to participate in job shadowing, internships and mentoring.
