Westport (N.Y.) district rejects bond proposal

$500,000 would have paid for facility upgrades
Dec. 22, 2009
From The Plattsburgh Press-Republican: Taxpayers in the Westport (N.Y.) school district have turned down a school bond that sought up to $500,000 for a backup generator, new security entrance and resurfaced tennis courts. As proposed, the project would have provided a secondary power supply allowing the school to be used as an emergency shelter for town residents.
