New York City told to reinstate teacher

Court rules that woman was unfairly denied tenure
Feb. 15, 2012

From The Staten Island Advance: A judge has ordered New York City to reinstate a teacher who lost her job in 2008. Lisa Capece taught at Public School 1 on Staten Island from 2005 to 2008. She argued in her lawsuit that the school's principal targeted her for dismissal after a dispute over teachers' missing their prep periods. Ruling in Capece's favor, the judge said the teacher "was subjected to a course of abuse, harassment, discrimination and disciplinary action."
