Montgomery County, Ala., district may close 4 schools

Budget shortfalls could force cuts

The Montgomery County (Ala.) Board of Education is considering closing four schools at the end of the academic year in an effort to address projected budget shortfalls. An official recommendation has not been made, but Pintlala, Paterson and Hayneville Road elementary schools and Houston Hill Junior High top a list of possible schools to shut down, Superintendent John Dilworth says.
