Irving (Texas) district wants to get rid of some portable classrooms

Additions and new schools have lessened the need for portables
July 22, 2010

From The Dallas Morning News: Irving (Texas) school district officials are considering getting rid of up to 43 of the district’s 99 portable classrooms. Many of the portables are 20 to 30 years old, and they are expensive to move and apparently tough to find buyers for. A lot of portables were necessary when enrollment was growing more quickly; classroom additions and new schools have decreased the need.
