Duval County (Fla.) district cuts 72 positions

Action will save $2.5 million, officials say

The Duval County (Fla.) School Board has eliminated 72 classroom staff positions. District officials say cutting 22 teacher positions and 50 paraprofessional positions will reduce district spending by $1.4 million and $1 million, respectively.
