District wants to electronically track textbooks

Carpentersville, Ill., district considers barcode system already used in its libraries

Community Unit School District 300 in Carpentersville, Ill., is considering a system that would electronically track every textbook, similar to a library book database already in place. It would cost the district about $87,000 to add on to the barcode service already used at the district's libraries.
