Prank goes too far, high school students charged in Ohio

Three students at Mason (Ohio) High School have been charged with felonies after allegedly pulling a prank that canceled classes districtwide. Police say the three, sophomores ages 15 or 16, scaled a barbed wire fence last week in the near-zero cold and yanked the plugs on the heating blocks to 59 school buses, which effectively prevented the buses from starting the next morning. Mason school officials cancelled classes Friday for the district’s 10,500 students. Hundreds of private school students who ride Mason buses also were affected. Each of the teens was charged with one count of disrupting public services, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of criminal trespassing, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
