Former high school secretary charged with stealing $100,000 from activity fund

From The Elgin Courier-News: A former secretary at Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville, Ill., has been charged with stealing more than $100,000 from the school's student activities fund. Lisa Burkhart-Foster, 46, is charged with felony theft. Police and Community Unit School District 300 officials have been investigating Burkhart-Foster since May 2006 for allegedly taking up to $100,672.54 from the high school's activity fund. Burkhart-Foster oversaw the fund's bookkeeping until 2006.
