Two elementary schools to close in Flint, Mich.

District has closed 12 schools in 5 years
June 10, 2010

From MLive.com: Williams and Wilkins elementary schools in the Flint (Mich.) district will close next week for good. The closures will make 12 total schools shut down by the district in the last five years. At its peak, Flint Community Schools once boasted over 46,000 students. Today, enrollment is around 12,000. As of now, the district does not plan to shut down any more campuses, but continued declines in enrollment and other factors could conceivably change that in the future.
