Voters in Maine district reject $3 million bond request

Regional Unit 5 wanted to build athletic complex at high school

From The Brunswick Times-Record: Voters in Regional School Unit 5 in Maine have rejected a $3 million proposal to build an athletic complex at Freeport High School. The district includes the towns of Freeport, Pownal and Durham. Voters in Freeport favored the proposal, but voters in the two other towns rejected the plan. The complex would have included an eight-lane track, an artificial turf field, lights, bleachers, a press box and concessions area.
