L.A. schools found liable in student's paralysis

Jury says district's response to boy's seizure was ineffective.

The Los Angeles Unified District has been ordered to pay $7.6 million for an incident in which a 9-year-old student had a seizure on campus and subsequent CPR was ineffective. Steve Martinez, now 13, lies paralyzed in a minimally conscious state, requiring around-the-clock care.
