Guilford, Conn., voters approve funding for new high school

From The Shoreline Times: Voters in Guilford, Conn., have approved the construction of a high school at a price of $89.97 million--with a cost of $63.8 million after state reimbursement. Designs will be drawn up over the next year, construction will begin in fall 2012, and students will start the 2014-15 school year in the new facility.

Public Schools: The Town of Guilford, Conn., will seek voter approval on June 14 for a new high school to replace the existing Guilford High School. Voters will be asked to appropriate $89.97 million for the school. Guilford's net project cost after state reimbursement is projected to be $63,825,286. Voters also will be asked to authorize an additional $1.75 million in spending for energy conservation enhancements, and an additional $500,000 for an emergency shelter within the high school building.
