The Filer (Idaho) school district has failed to win approval of a $14.9 million bond proposal. The measure received support from more than 60 percent of those voting, but it needed a two-thirds majority for approval. The bonds would have enabled the district to build an intermediate school. The facility would have provided space for grades 4 to 6 and freed up space at the district's elementary and middle schools. The bond also would have provided money for a high school addition and repairs at the elementary school. Another bond request--an $800,000 proposal for athletic facility upgrades--also was defeated.
