Dallas school district spokesman Celso Martinez says he will quit rather than move into the district. Martinez lives in McKinney, and last month, he was denied a waiver to live outside the boundaries of the Dallas Independent School District. Previously, he had said he would move into the district by July.

Dallas school superintendent Michael Hinojosa has decided that five senior school district employees will have to move to the district by July 1 or leave their positions, The current district spokesman, Celso Martinez, lives in McKinney and had requested a waiver to live outside district boundaries. The district policy requires that all executive employees be "bona fide residents" of the district, and it gives them six months from the date of appointment to comply or seek a waiver.
