Small Texas district is shutting down

Samnorwood system is a victim of declining enrollment and inadequate funding

From MyHighPlains.com: Declining enrollment and shrinking state funds have led the Samnorwood (Texas) Independent School District schools to close its doors. The board voted earlier this year to make the district dormant, and residents in the district will have to find another place to send their students. Several surrounding school districts are considering accepting students, but the final decision rests with the Collingsworth County commission.
