Pilot program provides netbook computers to students at 10 San Diego middle schools

Mobile Learning Program enables 3,000 to have Internet access at school and home

From The San Diego Union-Tribune: All of the students at 10 middle schools in the the San Diego Unified School District will be issued netbook computers in 2011-12 as part of the district’s’s Mobile Learning Program. A $1 million grant from the Federal Communications Commission will enable the students to have computers with 3G service that can be used classrooms and take home. About 3,000 students attend the 10 participating schools.
