Plan to open charter high school riles some New Orleans residents

Recovery district plans to use old elementary site as home for technology high school.

Residents of the Algiers section of New Orleans are voicing opposition to a plan to convert Rosenwald Elementary into a high school. State Superintendent Paul Pastorek apologized for deciding the fate of Rosenwald without community input. The campus is scheduled to open this fall as a technology high school under control of the Algiers Charter School Association.
