Demolition of landmark New Orleans school begins

Recovery District has planned a new $40 million facility to replace Landry High School

The destruction of one of the most treasured educational edifices in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans has begun. Demolition of L.B. Landry High School is eliminating one of Algiers' enduring landmarks, but neighbors and alumni are focusing more on the Recovery School District's promise to build a much improved $40 million school.
