Philadelphia budget cuts may jeopardize school safety

State official urges district not to cut $8 million from disciplinary schools' budget.

A Pennsylvania official who monitors school violence say that the Philadelphia School District, by cutting funding for disciplinary school system, will jeopardize the safety of staff and students in its schools. Jack Stollsteimer, the safe schools advocate, urged the district not to go forward with its planned cut of $8 million from its $40 million disciplinary schools' budget.
