9th-grade addition nearing completion in Biloxi, Miss.

$10 million expansion moves freshmen to high school campus
July 21, 2009

From The Biloxi Sun-Herald: When school starts in a few weeks, the $10 million addition to Biloxi (Miss.) High School will be complete, and ninth-graders in the district will attend that school for the first time. Before this year, freshmen attended Biloxi Junior High, but at the beginning of 2008, the district decided to add on to the high school and move ninth-graders there with the sophomores, juniors and seniors. To make room for about 400 more students, the district added three dozen classrooms, two labs, six offices, a storage room, a work room, a courtyard and an Internet cafe.
