Ohio district spars with village over portable classrooms

Bloom-Carroll's proposed site for portables doesn't meet zoning requirements, village says
June 18, 2009

From The Columbus Dispatch: Officials in the Bloom-Carroll (Ohio) school district and Carroll village officials are at odds over where to put portable classrooms that are needed because an elementary school was closed last year. The six-classroom trailer is intended to hold 130 second-graders. District officials want to put the unit near the newer Carroll Elementary. The children would use a covered walkway to walk to the elementary school for gym and other activities. Village zoning officials, however, say the site chosen by the district doesn't meet setback requirements.
