Legislator wants University of Iowa to sell Jackson Pollack painting

State senator believes "Mural" painting could bring in $200 million

An Iowa state senator says it's time to sell one of the state-owned Jackson Pollock paintings to bring in cash, The famous "Mural" painting is insured for $150 million, but Sen. Matt McCoy believes it could fetch as much as $200 million. That's not a good idea, says Sally Mason, the president of the University of Iowa, whose art collection holds two Pollock paintings.
