Ira district chief admits to spending $13,000 in district funds on personal items

From The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal: The former superintendent of the Ira (Texas) Independent School District has pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud in connection with using district credit cards for personal purchases. Larry Gene Devitt admitted that he spent more than $13,000 in district funds on personal items, while reporting those expenses as work-related purchases. An investigation found that Devitt had charged more than $60,000 in personal purchases to district credit cards between January 2003 and April 2008.
