Construction program aims to provide enough classroom space to do away with multi-track calendars
From The Los Angeles Daily News: At the peak in 2002, one out of three schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District stayed open year-round. But by September, thanks to an aggressive $20 billion school construction program started earlier this decade, fewer than 10 percent of district schools will be multi-track. The district's goal is to eliminate multi-track schools by 2012.
