Unified Shelby County board approves recommendation of Memphis district officials

From The Memphis Commercial Appeal: The unified Shelby County (Tenn.) School Board has approved the closure of three underused Memphis elementary schools after hearing information from Memphis City Schools officials that the decisions would improve the district's efficiency and performance. The schools to close: Lakeview, which Supt. Kriner Cash described as the most underutilized general education school in the district; Graceland and Georgia Avenue.
