From The Wheeling Intelligencer: The Switzerland of Ohio Local School District has won approval of a $35 million bond proposal. The bonds will provide the local share for $88 million in school construction and renovation projects. The balance of the funds will come from the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission. Plans call for construction of six schools--two high schools and four elementary schools--and the renovation of one high school.

From March 2009: The Switzerland of Ohio Local School District will go to the polls on May 5 to decide the fate of $88 million in proposed school construction projects. The bond request would generate $35 million, and the Ohio School Facilities Commission is expected to pick up the remainder of the cost. Work would involve the building of six new school facilities, as well as the renovation of River High School. If the bond issue passes at that time, the District would pay 37 percent of the construction costs. If the bond is approved at a later time, the school district's share would increase to 52 percent or $45.76 million. (Wheeling News-Register)
