University of Florida freezes hiring

School acts to address budget deficit of $20 million to $30 million.

The University of Florida is instituting a campuswide hiring freeze in response to a projected $20 million to $30 million deficit caused by a significant decline in revenue and rising expenses. The hiring freeze will apply to all faculty and staff at all university units statewide.
